About San Joaquin Gardens

San Joaquin Gardens opened in 1966 with an exciting ground-breaking ceremony, as the second community of the American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW), a trusted nonprofit provider of quality retirement housing and health care services. As an expression of its Judeo-Christian mission, ABHOW seeks to enhance the well-being and security of seniors through the provision of housing, health care, and supportive services.

Today, ABHOW operates 11 continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) and 18 affordable housing communities. CCRCs provide residents with the continuity of a flexible, independent lifestyle while offering the security of health care. The ABHOW Foundation helps these communities by providing financial support to residents who require assistance.

Our non-sectarian retirement community is located in the heart of central California. Gracious living is supported by an outstanding, caring, and responsive staff. San Joaquin Gardens is accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission, an independent agency sponsored by the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging. This seal of approval assures residents and their families that our community meets national standards for quality care.

San Joaquin Gardens is known for its vibrant and friendly community, exceptional services and amenities, and quality health care. Browse the Services area of our site to learn about our Residential Living, Assisted Living, Health Center, Home Care, and Alzheimer’s/Memory Support services.
